CRASH OF A P-40E KITTYHAWK
AT ARCHERFIELD, QLD
ON 26 FEBRUARY
1942

On 26 February 1942, USAAF P-40E Kittyhawk, Serial No. #41-5310, piloted by Edward D. Ball, ran into a gun mount at Archerfield airfield in Brisbane, Queensland. The pilots attention was distracted by other aircraft landing at that point in time. The aircraft's propeller was damaged. The aircraft was relocated to Geelong after the accident.
