The Squadron received additional C-47 training at Sedalia. While at Sedalia, the 433rd Troop Carrier Group numbers swelled to over 1,000 personnel and it gained 19 aircraft and a glider detachment. The pilots did not like to to tow gliders and the engineering officers complained that towing was rough on the air frames. Despite the difficulty of towing, the real training had commenced. The aircrews flew around the clock in preparation for the anticipated rigours of combat flying.
