No. 2 Radio Installation and Maintenance Unit RAAF was formed in Townsville on 1 October 1944, with 11 officers and 139 other ranks RAAF, and 12 WAAAFs. This unit carried out installation and maintenance of telecommunications and radar equipment until disbanded in May 1946.
