10 Stores Depot RAAF was initially formed at Maylands in Western Australia on 1 January 1943. The Unit moved to Merredin in WA on 9 February 1943.

10 Stores Depot RAAF was built during WWII and comprised two large hangar type buildings and two bellman hangars. They were used to warehouse a wide range of items including aircraft parts, vehicle parts, uniforms, cooking utensils and workshop tools.

There was also an armaments workshop repairing mainly .303 and .50 machine guns. Some of these are reportedly buried somewhere near the hangars.

On the 16th and 17th March 1954, an auction was held on site to dispose of the contents of the buildings.

In support of the base, Officers, Sergeants and other ranks messes were built along with several married quarters.

Today the two hangars remain, one is used for the manufacture of farm machinery and the other is used for storage. The Officers Mess is now a private home and the Sergeants Mess is a craft hall and some of the married quarters remain.
