"SUNNY COURT", PEAT'S BIGHT
HAWKESBURY RIVER, NSW
DURING WWII
The Commonwealth Government rented "Sunny Court" at Peat's Bight, Hawkesbury River, in New South Wales from Mr. William John Mackay (Commissioner of Police) for a Female Internment Camp during WWII from the 9 October 1939 for the duration of the war plus 3 months.
The Camp was discontinued in early 1940 and was handed back to Mr. Mackay on 8 March 1940.
