There have been many false stories and rumours about General Douglas MacArthur in the Southwest Pacific Area during WWII. Most of them are untrue. Here are a few examples listed below:-

Afraid not!

Did General Douglas MacArthur ever interrogate
rescued Missionaries at "Woodland" at Marburg?

Afraid Not!

Was General Douglas MacArthur's Intelligence
 Headquarters located at Woodlands?

Afraid not!

Did General Douglas MacArthur ever paint a
 large mural on one of the walls at "Woodlands at Marburg?

Highly unlikely!

Did General Douglas MacArthur have his
own Officer's Club in the Marburg Hotel
Afraid not!

Did General MacArthur have his
own bunker at Bankstown, Sydney?
Afraid not!

Did General MacArthur have his own bunker in Townsville?
Afraid not!

Did General MacArthur sleep overnight at the Capalaba
Radio Receiving site to listen to the Battle of the Coral Sea

Afraid not!

Did MacArthur and his wife and son live in a $1M mansion at Hollandia?
Afraid Not!

Did General MacArthur live in a large house in Los Negros?
Afraid not!
