CRASH OF A SPITFIRE
200 MILES EAST OF KALGOORLIE, WA
ON 28 SEPTEMBER 1944

A Spitfire of 85 Squadron RAAF, made a forced landing and overturned 200 miles east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia on 28 September 1944. The pilot sustained minor injuries. The Spitfire was on its delivery flight to 85 Squadron RAAF.
