CRASH OF A BOOMERANG
AT GUILDFORD, WA
ON 22 MAY 1943

Boomerang A46-83 of 85 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Sgt. B.P. Williams, swung off the runway during takeoff and hit a tree at Guildford airfield in Western Australia on 22 May 1943. Sgt. Williams was drenched with petrol when a fuel cap flew off during the impact. He died in hospital from pneumonia six days later.
