Fairey Battle L5599 of RAAF Air Gunnery School  (AGS) West Sale made a forced landing 1/2 mile north of Seaspray in Victoria on 19 February 1945 due to an external glycol leak caused by a loose connection.

The aircraft was fixed and P/O Scott attempted a take off from the field. He became airborne for only a few seconds before the cockpit was filled with white dense glycol fumes. The fumes obscured his vision so he throttled back to see the creek ahead. He then throttled on again clearing the creek and landed in another field wheels up. The aircraft touched down inside the field hitting the wing tip on the ground turning it at right angles near the road. This field was fenced and lined with tree guards and telegraph lines so the aircraft was dismantled.
