CRASH OF A C.A.C WACKETT TRAINER
NORTH OF CHEPSTONE, VIC

ON 20 FEBRUARY 1944

C.A.C. Wackett Trainer A3-191 crashed on the 20 February 1944 north of Chepstone in Victoria. It was from No. 1 Wireless and Air Gunners School (1 W.A.G.S) at Ballarat. The pilot W/O W. Howard and CPL. R Bolton were killed. The trainer climbed steeply from about 100ft and then appeared to stall before it dived vertically into the ground.
