CRASH OF A P-40E KITTYHAWK
AT AMBERLEY AIRFIELD, QLD
ON 24 JANUARY 1942
On 24 January 1942, a USAAF P-40E Kittyhawk #41-385, piloted by Lieutenant Jack R. Peres crashed at Amberley airfield in Queensland. The aircraft suffered damage to the undercarriage, wing tip, main plane, aileron and airscrews.
