FORCED LANDING OF A WIRRAWAY
AT KINGAROY AIRFIELD, QLD
ON 21 APRIL 1943

On 21 April 1943, during a ferry flight from Amberley Airfield to Kingaroy Airfield, Wirraway A20-143 of 5 Squadron RAAF crash landed at Kingaroy Airfield resulting in the undercarriage collapsing injuring the pilot LAC Spencer Murray Eastman (412121). The aircraft was on the last leg of a ferry flight from Bankstown Airfield.
