CRASH OF A BOSTON
INTO A PADDOCK NEAR WOODFORD, QLD
ON 9 OCTOBER 1942

RAAF Douglas DB-7B Boston Mk. IIIA (Boeing Built), A28-19 (RAF AL368 c/n 2749), crashed in Cruice's Paddock, 2.5 miles from Woodford in Queensland on 9 October 1942 during a ferry flight. This aircraft had been delivered to the RAAF during April 1942. Crew comprised P/O Wines and F/Sgt. Clifford Grove.
The aircraft was heavily damaged and converted to components Gary Oschadlin told me that he there should be a photo in the archives of the local Caboolture news.
A28-19 was delivered to the RAAF in April 1042 and went into service with 22 Squadron on 5 July 1942.
