FORCED LANDING OF A B-26
MARAUDER
AT BUNDABERG AIRFIELD, QLD

B-26 Marauder #40-1368 "Sad Sack" / "Easy Pickin" made a forced landing at Bundaberg Airfield (RAAF airfield) at 1500hrs on 23 June 1942 whilst being ferried back for repairs when piloted by Lt J. W. Oliver. The aircraft was repaired and departed from Bundaberg on 17 July 1942.
In an earlier incident, this aircraft #40-1368 piloted by Lieutenant Ralph P Higgins had a collision with a Zero on the 4 June 1942 over Papua New Guinea.
Eventually this aircraft, #40-1368, crashed on takeoff at Dobodura, New Guinea on 8 September 1943.
