CRASH OF A TIGER MOTH
AT ARCHERFIELD AIRFIELD,
BRISBANE, QLD,
ON 2 DECEMBER 1941

Tiger Moth

British built DH-82 Tiger Moth N6903 of 2 Elementary Flying Training School 2 EFTS at Archerfield, crashed at Archerfield Airfield, Brisbane at 1005 hours on 2 December 1941. The aircraft crashed on landing. The engine was not used to correct a heavy landing. The pilot LAC Francis Henry Weigall (414284) was uninjured. There was structural damage to the centre section, bulkhead and starboard lower mainplane. The Axles were bent. The airscrew was broken and the starboard rear engine foot was broken.

NOTE:- Not to be confused with Australian built DH-82A Tiger Moth DHA903 (A17-903).
