CRASH OF A P-38H LIGHTNING
INTO MORETON BAY, NEAR BRISBANE, QLD
ON 19 JULY 1943
P-38H Lightning #42-66518, of 433rd Fighter Squadron, 475th Fighter Group crashed into Moreton Bay near Brisbane, Queensland on the 19 July 1943 when it suffered engine failure. The Pilot was 2nd Lt Martin L, Low.
