CRASH OF A DOUGLAS A-24-DE DAUNTLESS
AT McKINLAY, QLD
ON 10 FEBRUARY 1942

Douglas A-24-DE Dauntless #41-15805, crewed by Ireland A. Walker, Jr. (0-404097), and crew Sgt C.C. Cox of the 17 Bomb Squadron, 27th Bomb Group, 3rd Air Force crash landed due to loss of engine oil at McKinlay, in Queensland on 10 February 1942 whilst travelling to Daly Waters in the Northern Territory. The wrecked aircraft was condemned on 7 November 1942.
