CRASH OF A KITTYHAWK
AT LIVINGSTONE AIRFIELD, NT
ON 21 NOVEMBER 1942

On 21 November 1942, P-40 Kittyhawk, A29-115, #41-36094, of 77 Squadron RAAF made a force landing at Livingstone airfield in the Northern Territory. This followed an airscrew failure and engine overheating. The pilot, Sgt Albert James Noldart(411937), put the aircraft down on its belly at the airfield with the wheels partly down. The airscrew was damaged beyond repair, and the radiator and cowling were smashed.
