DH-94 Moth Minor
On 6 January 1942, RAAF DH-94 Moth Minor A21-1 (Airframe No. 94058) of 22 Squadron RAAF made a forced landing after engine failure at approximately 1500 hours 6 miles from Windsor on Wiseman's Ferry Road in New South Wales. The aircraftw as written off.
The pilot, Sergeant Kerry Gavan Byrnes (403903) was slightly injured with superficial lacerations to the nose and forehead. His crew member LAC William John Webster (15520) was uninjured.
The aircraft was originally received by the RAAF on 26 January 1940 and was eventually Struck off Charge on 5 March 1942. It had been originally planned to be delivered to South Africa. It had been registered as G-AFNA for testing prior to shipment.
