CRASH OF A P-40E KITTYHAWK
AT WILLIAMTOWN, NSW
ON 2 MARCH 1942

USAAF P-40E Kittyhawk #41-5619 of the 9th Pursuit Squadron, 49 Pursuit Group ground looped at Williamtown, NSW on 2 March 1942.

The pilot was 2nd Lieutenant J.J. Lanett. The aircraft was sent to 5AD for repair and later re-issued to the 49th Pursuit Group.
