CRASH OF A KITTYHAWK
AT ALBION PARK, NSW
ON 6 OCTOBER 1945
![]()

P-40 Kittyhawk
At 1045 hours on 6 October 1945, RAAF P-40M Kittyhawk, A29-324 (#43-5648) from 2 OTU force landed at Albion Park, New South Wales (I've assumed it was not at Albion Park in Brisbane in Queensland).
A29-324 was piloted by Flight Lieutenant Robert James Kenyon (404836) from Toowoomba, Queensland. He was uninjured. He was leading another aircraft on a ferry flight when he became lost in moderately poor weather conditions and made a forced landing. His undercarriage failed to lower. The probable cause of the accident was listed as "Carelessness".
The aircraft was to be allocated to 6AD at Oakey, Queensland but at the the time of the forced landing it was still attached to 2 OTU.
