CRASH OF A KITTYHAWK
1 MILE SOUTH OF WENTWORTH BOMBING RANGE, NSW
ON 11 NOVEMBER 1944

On 11 November 1944, P-40E Kittyhawk, A29-115 (#41-36094), piloted by Sgt Bernard Maurice O'Keeffe, failed to pull out of a dive from 12,000 ft and crashed 1 mile south of Wentworth, NSW.

 

This aircraft was involved in another accident
at 2 OTU Mildura, VIC on 15 August 1943
