COLLISION OF TWO KITTYHAWKS
AT BANKSTOWN, NSW
IN ABOUT DECEMBER 1943
![]()
In about December 1943, two RAAF P-40E Kittyhawks collided at Bankstown in New South Wales. Kittyhawk A29-26 collided with A29-86.
A29-26 arrived at 82 Squadron RAAF from 75 Squadron RAAF on 29 September 1943 and was then sent to 2AD from 82 Squadron on 30 December 1943 after the above collision.
Gordon Clarke has A29-86 being received at 82 Squadron on 3 December 1943 but nothing about a collision, though it was in 82 Squadron at the same time as A29-26.
