My uncle, George Redding, was a navigator/wireless operator in 36 Squadron in 1943/1944. He doesn't have E-mail

He attended a gathering of ex-36 Squadron members yesterday and stayed with us last night. He is returning to Ballina today. Uncle George is confident he knows two others in your photo of four.

A gathering of Queensland ex-36 Squadron members is to be held at Caloundra on Saturday 1st of July.

Thanks for the email. I'm not sure if Uncle George knew your uncle but I'm sure he knows two of the other three. The best thing you could do would be to give him a call. He's looking forward to hearing from you.

UPDATE:- I rang George Redding on 26 June 2000 and he was able to help me with the names of two of the other personnel in the photographs below:-

My uncle, Jack Dunn, is the one at the right in the top of the bunk

Thanks to George Redding I now know that the fellow at the top left
is John "Jack" Carroll and the fellow at the bottom on the right is Don Lancaster.
The corporal was a carpenter in 36 Squadron, name unknown.

George Redding also told me that the North East Area Headquarters for the RAAF was based on top of Castle Hill. He went there for an interview one day during the war.

Can anyone help me with more information?
