COLLISION OF TWO HUDSONS
AT CROCODILE ISLAND
OR PERHAPS YABOOMA ISLAND
NORTH WEST OF MILLINGIMBI, NT

On either 19th or 20 April 1943, two Mark III Hudson bombers from 2 Squadron RAAF, collided at Crocodile Island, north west of Millingimbi in the Northern Territory. Another source indicates that the collision occurred at Yabooma Is. Hudson A16-197 (FH172) piloted by Mr. Daniel crashed 160 yards away from Hudson A16-183 (BW676), piloted by Mr. Mills.
A16-197 was delivered to the RAAF in April 1942. It was converted to components in September 1943.
A16-183 was delivered to the RAAF in March 1942. It was converted to components in November 1943.
