BEAUFIGHTER FORCE LANDED
AT BLYTH RIVER
NEAR MILLINGIMBI, NT

Mark IC Beaufighter, A19-30 (RAF Serial No. T4994) of 31 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Mr. Ellis, made a forced landing at Blyth River near Millingimbi in the Northern Territory on 17 September 1943. The records of 4 RSU-482 Maintenance Squadron show that they carried out salvage operations at Blyth River on Beaufighter A19-30 of 31 Squadron in November 1943.
This aircraft was delivered to the RAAF in May 1942. Its conversion to components was approved in May 1944.
