COLLISION BETWEEN
A BEAUFORT & A BOOMERANG
AT MILLINGIMBI, NT
ON 17 JUNE 1944

A Mark VIII RAAF Beaufort, Serial No. A9-576, of 1 Squadron, piloted by Mr. Lipman, collided with Model CA-13 Boomerang A46-125 (CAC Constructor's No. 948) of 83 Squadron, piloted by Mr. Thompson, while taxying on Millingimbi airfield on 17 June 1944. The record of Works-in-Progress for 4 RSU-482 Maintenance Squadron shown that they were carrying out field repairs on A9-576 at Millingimbi, but there was no sign of any work on a Boomerang by 4 RSU.
Beaufort A9-576 was later "Struck Off Charge" in August 1949.
Boomerang A46-125 was authorised for Writeoff in May 1946 and was "Struck Off Charge" in November 1948.
