CRASH OF A VENTURA
AT KANGAROO VALLEY, NSW
ON 21 JUNE 1945

 

RAAF Ventura, A59-87, ex Bu. 49437, c/n 6253, was damaged when it made a "wheels-up" forced landing at Kangaroo Valley in New South Wales on 21 June 1945 after an engine failure. It was enroute from Laverton to Williamstown via Nowra at the time of the accident. The crew were uninjured.

This aircraft was received into the RAAF at 2AD on 1 April 1944. It was then received into 1 APU on 16 April 1945.  Approval was given to convert it to components on 9 August 1945.
