Photo Lab in a high set house at 630 Sturt Street, Townsville
The 8th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron of the 5th Air Force, USAAC, set up their photographic laboratory in a high set house at 630 Sturt Street, Townsville. Bud Sowers was the officer in charge of the photo lab.

Back in April 2003, the same house was being used for at least 6 units. The stairways had been modernised. The shape and structure was identical to the black and white photograph above. It was located right next to Geoff Pickering Motors on the same side of Sturt Street as Greek Orthodox Church.
Bruce Williams contacted me on 2 November 2023 and told me that the house had been demolished in 2019 and the block had added to the Geoff Pickering Motors complex and was being used for parking.
