The USS William B. Preston was a Destroyer-type Seaplane Tender. She had operated in conjunction with US Navy Reconnaissance PBY's based at Darwin.
The following crew member of the "USS William B. Preston" died as a result of the Japanese air raid on Darwin on 19 February 1942.
