Love the underground bunker! I will get back in touch because I have a family member who disappeared after taking off from Garbutt during the War! He lifted off in a new B-25G on 28 January 1944 at 11:30 en route to Durand Field N.G. Never made it! Lost in the ocean I presume.

The B-24 that was found in China a couple of years ago will be aired on the Discovery channel again on April 25th at 6:00 PM, EDT. I watched the first show that aired and it was really good. This B-24 was thought lost in the Formosa Straights, but was found crashed on the side of a mountain peak. You don't want to miss this!

Do you know anything about an American Cemetery in Townsville? Is it still there, or has progress caused it to be moved? I would love to find a database of who's buried there. Is it possible to get a list of who's buried there?

The reason I asked about an American cemetery is because I was sent a newspaper article that was wired by the Associated Press during the war that has a picture showing an American flag flying at half-staff and in the background is a burial funeral. The caption reads: "The Stars and Stripes fly at half-staff as four members of an American bomber crew who lost their lives battling the Japanese in the southwest Pacific area are buried in a cemetery reserved for Americans at Townsville, Australia."

I'll ask some of the group members if they know anything about an American cemetery.
