Subject: Caplice family

Hello Peter,

My name is Joan Person.

My Great Grandmother was Mary E. Caplice before she married my Great Grandfather John Fitzsimmons. Family legend says she was from Quebec, Canada. But I think she may have emigrated from Ireland to Canada, then to the United States. She married her husband in San Francisco, in 1878. They had six children:-

Eugene
Thomas
John
Laurence
James and
Mary Virginia (my Grandmother)

They settled in Oakland, California and lived their until their deaths in the early 1920's.

Peter,

I believe I wrote you to you earlier last year regarding my Great Grandmother, Mary A. Caplice Fitzsimmons.

I have some new information;

My Great Great Grandparents emigrated to Quebec, Canada sometime before 1854. Their names were Michael and Catherine (surname Austin).

My G.Grandmother emigrated to San Francisco in 1871 at the age of 17.
