COLLIE SECTION
GARDEN ISLAND, WA
IN AUSTRALIA DURING WWII
![]()
In late 1943 two QF 12-Pdr Mk. 1 guns were installed at Collie Head in December 1943 on the southern end of Garden Island in Western Australia. These two guns were freed up when two new 6-Pdr guns replaced the two QF 12-Pdr Mk. 1 guns at Harbour Battery at Fremantle. The guns at Collie Section were manned by "K" Heavy Battery which also manned the Peron Battery.
The two guns were placed on a care-and-maintenance basis in August 1944.
