(ADELAIDE RIVER NO. 3)
DURING WWII

Brooks Airfield (Adelaide River No. 3) was described on the Air Field Data Sheet as being located 10 miles north east of Adelaide River Railway Station and half a mile south of Adelaide River. It was described as:-

"River flat no timber, light grass surrounding country, river flats, lightly timbered with trees up to 40' high; low hills to S.W."

"Existing stripways can be used as E.L.G., only during dry season. Paving impracticable owing to flooding in wet season."

There were two runways as follows:-

82°, 4,350 feet long by 300 feet wide

135°, 4,700 feet long by 150 feet wide
